The Proposed Project

Anishnaabeg of Naongashiing First Nation has proposed the construction of a new two-cell aerated lagoon to replace the existing Wastewater Treatment Plant. The proposed site is approximately 270m south of the community, in an undeveloped forested area. The new lagoon will install a perimeter fence with a lockable gate, construct a perimeter drainage ditch to provide positive drainage, a new 205m long access road and parking pad, and new on-site septic system lines. Physical activities will include completing a site survey, clearing and grubbing, excavation, completing a blasting survey and blasting activities (if required), construction of a blower building and UV system, underground connection piping, access road and parking pad, and site grading to allow for surface drainage.
