Beaver Brook Camp

The purpose of this project is to develop a cultural gathering space and multipurpose camp for Innu and Inuit communities in the Akami-Uapishkᵘ–KakKasuak–Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve. The camp will include a campsite with several tent pads designed for use by Innu, Inuit, and general visitor use. It will also feature floating docks and boardwalks, with solar lighting installed along the boardwalks to improve accessibility while minimizing impacts on sensitive environmental areas. A multifunctional building powered by solar energy will be constructed, along with a backcountry toilet facility. The project will also require temporary infrastructure during construction, including a construction camp, access routes, staging areas, and washroom facilities to support site development. This project will be assessed with a basic impact assessment.
