Prince of Wales Hotel Fire Suppression Water Well

The Prince of Wales Hotel, operated by Pursuit Collection in Waterton Lakes National Park, proposes to replace its existing fire suppression water source. The current surface water intake in Emerald Bay (Upper Waterton Lake) would be replaced with a groundwater supply, to be confirmed through the potential drilling of one or more wells in the Emerald Bay Day Use Area. The selected well site would be connected to the existing pumphouse via a trenched line extending to the current supply line location from the Emerald Bay intake on the south side of the pumphouse. This tie-in would involve the installation of a submersible pump and trenching for associated electrical and water lines. Existing pumphouse infrastructure would then be used to deliver fire suppression water to the hotel.
